What you can do with LoopGarden samples

A producer-friendly summary of the LoopGarden Sample License Agreement. Last updated May 5, 2026.

The short version

  • Use the samples in your music. Release music. Sell beats. Keep your royalties.
  • 3 license tiers. Completely royalty-free use until you reach your stream limit.
  • Contact us if your track gets big. If a label, sync, or major release comes up, we'll work it out.
  • What's never allowed. Selling the raw samples, repackaging them, training AI on them, or claiming them on Content ID.

License tiers

Which license you have depends on how you got the samples. The tier in effect when you release a track is the tier that covers it for life.

How stream limits are counted

Stream Limits are per released track, measured across qualifying DSPs.

Plays on TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and similar short-form social platforms do not count toward your stream limit.

Minor vs Major releases

Every release falls into one of two categories. Where it falls determines whether you need to talk to us.

Minor Release

Covered automatically

Indie or self-released. No label, publisher, or sync involvement.

  • DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby, Amuse
  • Bandcamp, SoundCloud
  • Your own channels

Stay under your stream limit and you're good.

Major Release

Requires clearance

Triggered when any of these apply:

  • Major label (Universal, Sony, Warner)
  • Large independent label
  • Label advance or marketing campaign
  • Sync placements (film, TV, ads, games, brand)
  • Publisher or sync-agency involvement

Email license@loopgarden.io before release.

What if my track passes the stream limit?

For Minor Releases, going over the limit isn't a problem. Just let us know within 30 days. After that, we participate in the income the track generates from continued streaming, and the percentage scales with how much LoopGarden content is in the track.

If your release has a different structure (a co-pro, a label split with multiple stakeholders, or any context where the default percentages don't fit), you can propose your own terms instead. Send us the release details and the offer you'd like to make. We'll review it and respond with a confirmation, a counter, or a question.

Selling beats with LoopGarden samples

You can sell or license beats and finished tracks that contain LoopGarden samples, as long as the buyer is informed that the track contains licensed audio and isn't given the raw samples to extract. The agreement includes a short pass-through clause to drop into your beat licenses (Schedule A in the full agreement).

Working with collaborators

Collaborators (mixers, producers, co-writers) can help you finish a specific track. They can't use those same samples in their own separate projects unless they have their own LoopGarden license.

What you can't do

A short, plain-English version of the rules. The full list lives in the agreement.

  • Don't resell or give away the raw samples. Use them in your music, but the original audio stays with LoopGarden.
  • Don't repackage them into another product. No sample packs, loop kits, MIDI packs, preset packs, or competing libraries.
  • Don't upload them to stock-audio sites or sample marketplaces. Or any other service that redistributes them.
  • Don't use them for AI training. Not in your own datasets, and not by submitting them to services that train on uploaded audio without a real opt-out.
  • Don't make Content ID claims based on LoopGarden audio. Other LoopGarden customers might be using the same sample. Claiming it as yours blocks them.
  • Don't share your membership login. Account access and downloads are personal to you.
  • Don't use samples in illegal or hateful content. And don't use them in a way that suggests LoopGarden is endorsing something it isn't.
